Philosophy of Education...
Education is something we value as Americans. Education gives us power, freedom, and self-confidence. Education is also something that can easily be taken for granted, except by those who are not as fortunate as others. “Schools should be about providing a sense of hope for all, not achievement for the few” (Anon.).
There are many different cultures and beliefs in our school systems and not all of them are experiencing the same benefits of receiving a decent education. Our children are our future and I strongly believe that all children shall receive equal educational opportunities. Each and every child’s future is important to me. I will do everything in my power to build an educational platform for each student to be able to someday stand on his or her own two feet.
I realize that all children are unique individuals with different learning styles. I will use all of the possible resources and tools available to me to accommodate the students so that each has an opportunity to reach his or her maximum performance level. I will incorporate the different learning styles into my classroom to adapt to the diverse needs and abilities of my students.
I will create a positive learning environment for my students. I feel that children need to feel safe in the classroom so they can develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically to his or her fullest potential. In doing this I believe my students and learning experiences will be more successful. As James Comer, I feel we need to form a tight-knit group consisting of parents, teachers, students, and administrators, who work together to provide the best learning experience possible.
As a teacher of academics I will establish respect and rapport with my students, and understand the guidelines of my career choice. I will continuously be faced with ethical, reflective, and moral decisions on a daily basis and will obtain the necessary resources to make these decisions.
Education is a very important aspect of my life and who I am. I was fortunate as a child to have the opportunity to receive a valuable education with many memorable teachers. I want to be one of those teachers. I want to make a difference in a child’s life. I am a compassionate, strong willed and very dedicated individual and I believe teaching is my calling!
