Welcome to Mrs. Doerner's Webpage...
My name is Amy Doerner, and I am excited to tell you about myself, and share with you my passion for teaching. My husband Doug and I have four children; Owen (9), Makenzie (7), Braden (3), and Griffin (16 months). We chose to raise our family in Durand Michigan, in a nice country home in the woods. Outside of teaching my time is spent supporting and encouraging my children through all of their academic and athletic endeavors, and my husband who works full time and coaches year round. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, scrap booking, camping and running.
More About Me....
In 2008 I graduated from Baker College of Owosso with a degree in education. Soon after graduation, I hired into Morrice Area Schools as a preschool teacher. I am getting ready to enter my sixth year of teaching. I previously taught in a GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) for two years before making the move to fifth grade.
I am currently finishing up my master's degree at Michigan State University. I believe experiences are an important part of learning. Experiences can open our eyes to new things, and shape our ideas and beliefs. Please click on the links to learn more about what I feel is important in education, and why.
